The presence of Salmonella or of Listeria monocytogenes in ready to eat food samples can cause food poisoning.
Many costly product recalls due to contamination with Salmonella or Listeria monocytogenes, have occurred recently in different countries. In addition to the cost of the recall, the image of the food manufacturer is deeply deteriorated after
such an event.
Nobody presently questions the need of insuring that food products must be free from such organisms before they leave the production site. However, the length of time necessary to perform the detection of those bacteria (5 to 7 days with classical methods, or 2 to 3 days with more recent immunological or chromogenic methods) leads to a disruption of the production flow which has also its costs in term of stock level, storage space, and service to the customer.
To avoid those drawbacks EUROPROBE, a young biotechnological company, has developed a specific and reliable nuclear probe method which enables to get the result of the identification test in 24 h. :
The LUMIPROBE 24 range
Note : Some of our competitors claim that they have a comparable test in 24h, whithout saying that they mean 24h. after the enrichment period. With LUMIPROBE 24, it is 24 h. all included !
