With the emergence of the COVID-19 pandemic early in 2020, FoodChek Laboratories was able to utilize its additional in-house expertise in virology to meet the growing demand for an essential component used in COVID-19 test kits – tubed viral transport solutions. The Company’s existing proficiency in the R&D of enrichment medias allowed it to rapidly pivot and develop safe and effective tubed viral transport solutions that are non-toxic and non-volatile. FoodChek Laboratories has a state-of-the-art R&D laboratory and manufacturing facility that enables it to supply these viral transport solutions and meet the urgent and continuing need for viral testing. Our tubed Vitram™ Viral Safety transport solutions are used in COVID-19 test kits in all the major airports across Canada with imminent expansion into the U.S. market.
