Founded in 1971, Microbiologics was originally named Environmental Protection Laboratories. Pursuing a mission of protecting public health, the company provided laboratory testing services for detecting microbial contamination in water sources, the environment and food products. In 1976, we began manufacturing and selling laboratory supplies including lyophilized (freeze-dried) microorganisms. Today, our standard-setting microbial controls are sold in more than 150 countries and we partner with the world's leading biopharmaceutical companies to bring new life-saving anti-infective drugs, vaccines and therapeutics to market safely.

Microbiologics employs more than 200 people across our 4 locations. We are majority owned by Saint Cloud, Minnesota-based Granite Partners.
